Donor Appeal

The Client:

Nazareth Farm, a nonprofit service-retreat organization for teens & young adults

The Objectives:

Raise funds for their work from chaperones, parents, and other adult supporters

The Strategy:

Just like businesses, nonprofits need to "sell" something. They sell change. They sell good. They sell momentum.


I was tasked with writing a letter to donors and potential donors. Great sales pitches focus on storytelling — so I told the story of one of Nazareth Farm's homeowners.


This letter appeals to the recipient's desire to make a positive difference in a particular part of the world. I invited the audience to join a movement and make and impact.
